(fic) Road Safety

Title: Road Safety
Author: googlebrat
Fandom:Torchwood
Rating:PG
Genre: Gen, Funny/Creepy
Pairings: None
Characters: Ianto, Owen
Spoilers (if applicable): None
Warnings: Mild creepiness
Disclaimer: Not mine
Summary: "Right." Ianto was silent for a moment, fingers drumming on the steering wheel. "You know, it would be a lot easier if we could shoot them."
A/N Brits will get this one. Foreigners may need to watch this to understand. I'm almost certain that this is not the longer, even creepier version, but cannot be certain as my kid sister has turned the channel over too fast to see the whole thing for the last year.
Slot this in somewhere around the middle of Season 2.

(fic) Forget Me Not

So, writing Only You Can Save Mankind meant I finally, finally got around to finishing S3 of SGA and starting S4. (Yes, I'm behind. Yes, very, very behind. See, if I never watch to the end of something it never has to end).

Anyway, that got me watching Tabula Rasa, approximately a lifetime after everyone else, which resulted in this.

Title: Forget Me Not
Author: googlebrat
Fandom:SGA
Rating:PG-13
Genre: Gen
Pairings: None
Spoilers (if applicable): None, I don't think. Except for Tabula Rasa
Warnings: Um. Might be triggery for mention of remembered rape/violence but I think that's it.
Summary: "He didn't know who he was. He didn't know where he was. He wasn't sure how he'd got there either." Tabula Rasa from Zelenka's viewpoint.
A/N: Uses dialogue from Tabula Rasa. Bounced ideas off Cinead , used Caladria's eyes, and perryvic (as usual) helped me with wording ;-)
Hoping this crossposts between LJ and Dreamwidth without going HORRIBLY WRONG.

Only You Can Save Mankind

Title: Only You Can Save Mankind
Author: googlebrat
Fandom:Stargate
Rating:PG-13
Genre: Gen AU
Pairings: Uh, mild implied Carson/Perna
Spoilers (if applicable): None, I don't think
Warnings: Moderate violence, minor bad language, minor character death
Summary: They called them the Wraith, ghosts that walked and brought death on their hands, and no country objected when their brightest and best children were demanded in order to prepare to fight the alien menace.

Disclaimer: Stargate isn't mine, and there are some Ender's Game inspirations in there. And title comes from Pratchett, 'cause it just seemed to fit.

100 Things Crowley Would Do Before The World Ended

Title: 100 Things Crowley Would Do Before the World Ended
Recipient: [info]caitirin
Author: [info]googlebrat
Rating: Unrated (general audiences)
Summary: Other people plan 100 things to do before they die. Crowley planned 100 things before EVERYBODY died.
Author's Notes: Characters in this belong to Pratchett and Gaiman obviously. Lines are also taken from various songs, and also "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night." (This started as a joke, and I think it ended up being on me. It was funny when "If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body" was on my radio. By the time I was putting final touches to "Strictly Come Dancing" and they were playing "In The Arms Of The Angel" it was a bit creepy). Some events on this are taken from Real Life, but not, as you will notice, in Real Life order. Blame Crowley for altering reality to the order he preferred. I hope I gave you the plot you asked for :-)

100 Things Crowley Would Do Before the World Ended

Looks like the Good Omens names are out now, so I can repost this:-)

Vicky gave me the idea for this, and then held my hand every time I realised how many items 100 really was. Thank you to everyone who, knowingly or unknowingly, gave me ideas.

A Patrician's Best Friend

(Short, sweet, and written mostly because the story was there and someone had to tell it and it might as well be me)

Title: A Patrician's Best Friend
Genre: Gen I s'pose?
Fandom: Terry Pratchett, Discworld
Summary: If it was thought inappropriate that the Patrician should walk a dog himself, there was certainly no-one prepared to actually say so to Havelock Vetinari.

I Am Not Clark, My Name Is Pete

Do you know how much 1000 words in rhyme is? I'll tell you how much it is. It's a whole lot more than it seems before you start writing them.

Kat stared at me a lot. And that is why I love her.

Title: I Am Not Clark, My Name Is Pete
Genre: Crack fic. In rhyme.
Fandom: Dr Seuss, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Summary: These children found me, in the park.
They took me home. They called me Clark.

The Songs of the Nightingale

Title: The Songs of the Nightingale
Genre: Gen
Fandom: Fairy Tales - The Nightingale
Summary : There are often tales told of an Emperor who lived at a certain time and of what wisdom passed to him through a wonderful gift, but seldom do those storytellers truly speak of the life of the bird that was that gift and so what is known is only half of the real story.

Come Away, Oh Human Child

S'pose I should actually get around to posting these now our identities are revealed and I can :-) Else it'll be March and I'll have forgotten to, and likely forgotten I ever actually wrote them. There are goldfish with longer attention spans than me, y'know.

Title: Come Away, Oh Human Child
Genre: Gen
Fandom: Diana Wynne Jones - Fire and Hemlock
Summary: "If it's a girl," he suggested casually, "we could call it Janet." And Polly felt her stomach freeze.

End of the Line: Ghost Train

What does it take to get someone writing a fic chapter on a fic that's been dormant for months? Well, in this case it takes a long, really bad train journey that sent me home babbling about ghosts who had been trying to get on a train for centuries and kept getting rerouted. And then the Vicky reminded me I owed Tizzy fic for Gundam Legends and the rest went from there.

So thank Tizzy and Vicky, and blame Network Rail. (Everything mentioned in this fic has actually happened to me on a railway line at some point, although thankfully not all on the same journey. The sign is also real, I know that there is at least one at Thornaby Station.)

This is part of a series, so best to start from the beginning if you haven't read them yet.

End of the Line
Mischief Managed
The Station Clock Said Twelve
Ticket to Ride
Wrong Side of the Track
Terminus
Missed Connections

TITLE: Ghost Train
RATING/WARNINGS: Gen. DH spoilers
PAIRINGS: None
CHARACTERS: Helena Ravenclaw
DISCLAIMER: Half these characters belong to JKR, the other half to Pratchett
SUMMARY: "She had been travelling for a long time now. That was the amazing thing about trains, Helena was discovering, the way that you could keep travelling for what felt like forever, and yet never seem any closer to your destination. "
